President’s corner
well we got it early ,,?? there is no mention of the dues being paid as our
treasurer was absent to give an accurate account of paid members.. per
article XVII of the tri valley r/c modelers club by-laws section 4, club
members in arrears of dues for three months become subject to dismissal by
the club, ... accordingly your dues are due on the first of the year,
January is normally the first of the year. this club does fallow A.M.A.
guide lines as all active members must be accounted for by the 15th of
February , and we do submit a roster to A.M.A along with our insurance
payment for our flying site , this also coincides with our charter for our
club. please try to be prompt in your membership renewal, We are looking
into the possibility of adding a taxi way to our run way to keep pilots off
of the run way when taking off , for safety reasons, proposed is a 12X20 ft
taxi way, regradeing the west side and the east side to match the height of
the run way, approx cost 1500.00 . we are still in limbo on the new field
and we might be here for awhile. we are trying to make the best of what we
have with out expending our funds needlessly , the vineyards are still
trying to get approved on their permit to start work so it is a gamble on
any improvements that we do, and on how long we will be there, besides the
city locations we are and have been looking for any and all possibilities
that might become available for us. thank you for your help, support, and
understanding. Larry Schlagel president tri valley r/c modelers
Minutes of the Tri-Valley Aero modelers
March 1, 2006
The meeting was opened at 7:00 by President Larry Schlagel.
New Member: Eric Shaw
Safety: John Saulsbury cautioned the members to be very careful.
Field Search Report: Larry and Les Holland met with city and toured new property to locate a suitable site for a flying field. The city's new landfill property, Los Flores Ranch, is best described as rolling hills with cliffs and gorges but it is 1400 acres. They did identify a suitable location, the only drawback being the distance from the runway to the parking. This gives us two possibilities, the original site, plan A, and this new landfill location, plan B.
Web Master: Reports 2569 hits. Would members submitting pictures please provide them in .jpg format.
New Business: Larry wants the club to sponsor a fun-fly for the members. No one volunteered to be contest director.
The club needs a flight instructor to replace Wes Vosberg, so far there is no volunteer.
Larry proposed that the flying field be improved by the addition of a taxiway to allow pilots the ability of taking off without having to stand on the runway. John Saulsbury agreed to get an estimate of the cost. John stated at the meeting that the cost might be $1500 to $2000.
Crash of the Month: Glenn Chalmers lost control of his new Paco which tried to fly through a fence.
Show and Tell: Ken Van Corvac showed a large ARF model of a P40 War hawk from Hanger 9. This beautiful model sports Keleco exhaust ports (scale) on the Sato 100 4 stroke engine.
Jim Oberst won the 50-50 drawing $35
Respectfully submitted,
Jerry Miller
