President’s corner - THANKS FOR A GREAT JUNE MEETING. A LIL WINDY IN THE MORNING
BUT STILL FLYABLE. NOW THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED THE A.M.A. GRANT WITCH WE ARE
VERY THANKFUL FOR, WE ARE MUCH CLOSER TO FULFILLING OUR NEW RUNWAY NEEDS. WE
ARE IN CONTACT WITH THE CITY AND STATE POWERS TO HONESTLY TRY TO MAKE OUR
NEW SITE A REALITY, PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE ON THIS MATTER I KNOW WE HAVE BEEN
WAITING A LONG TIME FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. WE ARE VERY CLOSE, SO HANG IN THERE.
A LOT OF NICE RAFFLE PRIZES WERE GIVEN OUT , AND WE ARE STILL MAKING THE
THURSDAY NIGHT MEETING THE PLACE TO BE. COME OUT, HAVE FUN, FLY SAFE

Secretary’s report Minutes were approved as published 

Safety ReportRunning up of engines should be done on the other side of the cars from the flight line.  Please close the gate and make sure that it is properly hooked 

Webmasters report - 1315 Visitors 

Field Marshal report -  Everyone is now considered to be Field Marshal, so pitch in! 

Field search report - Larry reports that the field is on track.  We will be part of the 5 year permit to be granted this year.  The AMA grant has been awarded.  The check for $2600 is in hand.

Newsletter Editor -  Jay Dangourian has agreed to be the newsletter editor.   

Old business - None 

New Business - Bob Allington reported that the club will distribute kits to youth for a fly off contest at the Maldanado youth center on July 23rd.  The museum of flight will supply the glue and misc. and we will supply the rubber powered planes (AMA Cubs) for the event. There is a need for a member to be the publicity chairman. The fun-fly in July will have Jay as the contest director.  The Museum of flight will hold it’s War-Bird fly-in the week end of August 28th.  We will have a booth to sell raffle tickets.  One of our members needs to volunteer to organize this event.  Bob Allington will get us on the schedule for a 20X40 booth where we can display planes.  Larry will provide a locked trailer for overnight storage.                         

Show and tell - Sam Mossin showed a wattmeter made by Astro and explained how this valuable tool can help in the construction of models. Brian and Bill Korn showed an electric plane fitted with floats. The plane was a Slow Stick by GWS with a highmax outrunner.   Jim Bierbauer showed a SAM 26 plane that he took to the nationals at Las Vegas this is the Texaco endurance event his plane has a 96” wingspan and has a Sato 45 engine he is allowed 24 oz. ov fuel to gain altitude.  Flights of over 1 hour are not uncommon

50-50 - Jerry won the 50-50

Crash of the month - Ken forgot he was flying inverted.  Herman lost his electric plane when another member landed on it.  They tied for COM.

Special report - John Fassow Adjutant of the American Legion Post Gave us an overview of the services that they could provide.  Such as barbeque events and meeting facilities.  The catering services were in the $6 - $8 range for offerings like chicken, ribs or top block tri-tip. They have rooms for as many as 100 and can set up on short notice, a week or so.
