participate in the war bird fly in, with the first meeting in place; we have
been given approximately one hour of flight time including demonstrations
and an area to perform in, and a set up area. They are requesting a
bilingual person to also explain what we are doing during the air show. we
have been given the go ahead for a full set of plans out lining our air time
, volunteers at the present time Les Holland, Jay Dangourian . Ernie
Swiontek, and Larry Schlagel will be authorized to fly during the show. We
will be flying on the taxi way 500 ft away from the spectators, if you have
a plane and plan to fly in this demonstration please contact, Ernie Swiontek
or Jay Dangourian about your flight plans, we have to submit all flight
durations to the board of directors of the War Bird Fly in. unfortunately I
will not be able to attend the next meeting for the club, Mr. Oberst will

June meeting minutes:
July 7, 2005
Minutes of the Tri-Valley R/C Modelers
Visitors - Devin Wheeler (New member)
Secretary’s report – Minutes were approved as published
Safety Report- Les Holland reports 476 days of accident free. There were a couple of incidents. Les stressed three points: Think ahead, Tie down or hold airplanes. Get behind the prop to unhook. He reminded us that the runway is narrow, the grass has been cut and beware (BE AWARE) of rattlesnakes.
Webmasters report - 1500 Visitors
Field Marshal report - Everyone is now considered to be Field Marshal, so pitch in!
Field search report - Larry reports that the field is on track. EIR is in Sacramento for review. We are in recite of a letter from the wing busters club at Vandenberg telling us that they have disbanded. Their airstrip is still available for use but it is unclear how our members might get access to it. Ernie says that if you fly there you fly in wind.
Newsletter Editor - None.
Old business - Bob Allington reported that the club will distribute kits to youth for a fly off contest at the Maldonado youth center on July 23rd. The build dates are July 19th and 23rd. First prize is a ride in the CAP’s airplane, second prize is a session in the Link trainer. All participants will receive a card good for a buddy box flight at our field. The museum of flight will supply the glue and misc. and we will supply the rubber powered planes (AMA Cubs) for the event. The fun-fly in July will have Jay as the contest director. The Museum of flight will hold it’s War-Bird fly-in the week end of August 28th. We will have a booth to sell raffle tickets. One of our members needs to volunteer to organize this event. Bob Allington will get us on the schedule for a 20X40 booth where we can display planes. Larry will provide a locked trailer for overnight storage. We will have three 10 minute flights each day right after the opening ceremony each day.
New Business - None.
Show and tell - Ernie Swointek showed us his current project. A MiniWave electric ducted fan. The plane weighs 4 3/4 lbs. and draws 50 amps at full power. This large plane looked like a handful to me. The 2 turn motor runs at 32000 rpm.
Door prizes - 12 door prizes were awarded
50-50 - Sam Mossin won the 50-50
Crash of the month - Carl Heavener crashed his Seniorita when his transmitter battery ran out of power.
Special Request – Remember to bring your raffle stubs, or unsold tickets, to the August 4th meeting.
Respectfully submitted
Jerry Miller.
