Don’t forget the club dinner Saturday December 4th
President’s corner: Our newly elected president, Larry Schlagel.
Aero modeling today faces challenges which are unique to the times in which we exist. Working together, I realize we are in a good position to continue enjoying model aviation, but we cannot allow internal strife to jeopardize that position. The challenge I face, as president is to keep the some times diverse people working together for the good of all aero modeling.
I do promise hard work, dedication and the willingness to stand strong for this club and membership. I realize protecting your right to continue enjoying R/C modeling is my first priority.
I believe we need to focus on promoting model aviation as a worth while recreational activity. This positive exposure would and will pay off in efforts to acquire and retain our flying sites which is a must for our activity.
Advancements in technology have taken model aviation to new levels that cannot be over looked and has helped our flying skills. We need to continue to support our members that fly for fun, our largest growing group. This has become a way for our members to come together and enhance their flying skills. However we can not forget the people who keep this club together. The average age of our members continue to rise. We need to focus more on education and attracting young people into out hobby, our best resource to realize this goal lies with our members, and for you to accomplish this goal, we need to provide you with as much support as possible.
Most, if not all, of our members make an effort to fly safely. We are still and will continue to fly under the rules of AMA and guidelines of the club. I encourage reasonable, safe flying practice, with out individually targeting certain styles of flying. It is you who can be our source of help in any progress to reduce risk. I believe all of these areas need increased attention, yet not at the expense of what we are already doing. We want to eliminate snap decision with out sufficient factual information. I want to encourage open communication with the membership and to promote the enjoyable activity of aero modeling.
A member organization, like ours regularly needs new people with new visions and a new enthusiasm to remain a viable, thriving, organization whose mission is to meet the needs of the members. Every one has something to contribute and that makes modelers special.
Notes from the December meeting:
Safety Report:
Less Holland passed out some club information packets that contain the officers, club by laws and flying site rules. It was determined at the meeting that each member should read this packet then there is going to be a document to sign that all have read and understand the content. If you check the AMA rules, this procedure is required of each club. We have not enforced the rule because as of right now we do not have a regulation flying field. If you do not have a packet let Less know and we will get you one.
Webmaster report:
Jay Dangourian is asking for people to visit the site and give him input to help him develop the site
There is a lot of work necessary to develop a site and fresh ideas do help. Jay’s web site is---------
50/50 Gross was $62.00 Del Wheeler Won $31.00 with ticket #481.
Crash of the month:
For more current information check the web site for the adds. Please let Jay know when you have something to sell and pleas let him know if it is sold so he can keep the web site up to date. Once again Jay is doing a fine job but he does need in-put.
Address of the dinner location is: 2135 N Railroad. The dinner is in the gated community clubhouse of Rancho Buena Vista. Time to meet is 6:00PM
Note from the editor:
I am trying to put a membership roster together that includes the primary channels you use to fly your planes with so please call me and let me know what they are.
Thank you Del Wheeler.
We now have permission to fly on Wednesdays for training purposes only. This is for buddy boxes only and there must be at least two people there at all times according to AMA rules. The field is never to have less than 2 Persons there when any flying is being done.
All Club Members are to contact the club officers about any request to be made of the Sainz ranch. There is never to be contact by club members direct. Violation of this rule could cause us to loose flying rights. Thank you.
