April meeting minutes:
April 7, 2005
Minutes of the Tri-Valley R/C Modelers
Visitors: Bob Allington’s brother Bill from Illiniois
Secretary’s report – The regular secretary was absent
Safety report Fly between the wind sock and the flag. Hand launch from the runway. Call all takeoffs and landings.
Webmasters report - 1121 hits. An aerial view taken from Bill Korn’s plane is being shown.
Welfare Al Seidenberg had a heart attack and is recovering at home. Flying can be very stressful.
Field Marshal report Everyone is now considered to be Field Marshal, so pitch in!
Field search report - Permits may start coming in August, but we will not take possession of the field until all permits are in. That includes state, county, city, and Parks.
Newsletter Editor - Bob Allington is now the Newsletter Editor.
Old business - The Museum and Tri-Valley sponsored model airplane flight training seminar is firming up the date and location for the first event. We will have youngsters, under supervision, build and fly the AMA Cub. We will do this in July at the Maldanado center.
Nigel Fay has had a flight training experience with eight 4-H members.
New Business - Dues are now overdue. All previous members who haven’t paid are dropped from the club roster. To get back on, the $50 initiation fee will be imposed.
Crash of the month - Sam Mossin took off with his ailerons reversed. It wasn’t his fault, as some bug got into his computer radio and reversed them while he was pre-occupied. Some new form of interference?
Show and tell - none
Door prizes - Ten door prizes were awarded ; Wes won5, Jay 4, and Cornel 1.
50-50 Cornel won the 50-50 which was only $15
Respectfully submitted
Bob Allington for Jerry Miller
I believe most people read the newsletter to find news of the new field. Patience is required here, as these wheels turn very slowly. In the meantime, try to make the best of the ranch site. The location couldn’t be nicer, but the facilities could. If anyone has an idea how the place could be improved, bring it forward to see if it merits discussion. Remember, each person is expected to police and maintain the area. That means YOU should volunteer to mow the grass once in awhile.
If you have anything you want to sell, tell me and I’ll list it for you.
The most efficient way to get the newsletter to you is via e-mail. If you have e-mail and are not now getting your letter that way, get your address to me. If you don’t have e-mail, get it, but not just for this.
